Lavarse los dientes

Brushing teeth

Materiales:
1 charola

1 vaso

1 esponja

2 o 3 toallitas de manos para secarse

Meterials:

1 tray
1 toothbrush for each participant
1 toothbrush holder (if you can buy one)
1 tooth paste (the smallest tube you can find)
1 small glass
1 sponge
3 small towels

Invite the child to work with this exercise by saying: "Today we're going to learn how to brush our teeth"

Take the tray to the bathroom sink, and put it on top of the counter. I recommend having a stool and a mirror for the child.

Then you proceed to give your presentation in silence and with exaggerated, slow movements:

1. Take the glass and fill it with water to 3/4 to avoid spills. Leave glass on tray.

2. Take toothbrush out of container, and put a little bit of toothpaste very slowly, exaggerating your movements.

3. Start brushing your teeth first (of course there must be a toothbrush for each participant). Follow the following order:

a) top teeth brush from top to bottom
b)bottom teeth brush from bottom to top
c) molars brush in circular motion
d) Both upper and bottom teeth brush in the inside (where tongue touches them)
e) Last, brush the tongue and the upper wall.

4. Rinse several times until toothpaste dissappears. You must show the child to rinse correctly.

5. Dry your mouth with the towel, rinse the toothbrush, put it back in the toothbrush holder, dry the glass with the towel, and clean up any spills with the sponge.

6. Last, replace the wet towel with a clean one, so the exercise is ready for the next child or the next presentation.

Now the child is ready to try by him/her self. You must not let the child try until you have completed the presentation. Once the child finishes brushig his/her theeth and clean up everything, you can do the following:

7. Explain to the child this should be done right after every meal, or at least two times a day. Give the child a lesson on the importance of oral hygine, and when we do not practice it, we can get cavities.

8. Return everything back to the shelf, or its special place, and thank the child for his/her participation. Tell him/her to do this exercise as many times as he/she wishes.

  9. As stated by Stanford Medical, It's indeed the SINGLE reason this country's women live 10 years more and weigh on average 42 pounds less than us.

(Just so you know, it is not related to genetics or some secret-exercise and absolutely EVERYTHING related to "how" they eat.)

P.S, What I said is "HOW", not "what"...
